CfP Bilateral Conference (Taiwan and Austria) ‘Justice and Injustice Problems in Transitional Societies’

June 9th, 2010

Call for Papers

Bilateral Conference
(Taiwan and Austria)

Justice and
Injustice Problems in Transitional Societies:

Taiwan and China

2010.9.28-29

Political parties and
politicians have always attached high importance to “transitional
justice”. However, instead of being seen merely as a political tool,
issues of justice and injustice should be viewed from a broader perspective.
Due
to its historical development and democratic transition, Taiwan has
long debated this subject. China’s political and economic rise has
also focused international attention on issues of fundamental human
rights in China thus necessitating more in-depth academic research in
this area. Austrian researchers have also focused on highlighting issues
of justice and injustice in a transitional society. This bilateral conference
will focus on theories, policies and practices related to justice and
injustice in Taiwan and China. We sincerely welcome all teachers, researchers
and graduate students to submit papers and hope, through holding this
conference, to stimulate greater bilateral academic exchange between
Taiwan and Austria.
