Silenced Sunrise: Taiwan’s Music vs. The China Factor is a 30-minute documentary film tells the story of how one protest anthem—Island’s Sunrise—became a symbol of democratic resistance and, at the same time, a target of censorship. Through the voices of Fire EX., the Bluebird Troubadours, and other Taiwanese musicians, it reflects on the struggles and choices faced by artists under growing political and economic pressure. There will be two screening events organised in London on the 14th May 2025.
These are public events intended to foster dialogue among all those interested in music and cultural politics. However, due to limited cinema capacity, please register below by Monday, 12th May, providing your name and contact details.
