Sveva Cristina Pontiroli
Attending the EATS 2025 Annual Conference as an undergraduate student allowed me to experience every panel, every discussion, and every exchange with a sense of curiosity and wonder. The entire experience felt like a breath of fresh air for my academic interests.
What struck me the most was the infinite multidisciplinarity of the topics presented, which opened up new dimensions of research I had never even considered. Each presentation left a lasting impression, sparking reflections on different declinations of expertise that I will carry forward in my academic journey.
Each and every panel had a unique impact, as did the opportunity to meet many of the brilliant minds behind them.
Several participants shared personal and academic stories with me, especially about their experiences in Taiwan, which I found particularly fascinating, as I haven’t yet had the chance to travel there myself. Listening to them encouraged me to deepen the linguistic aspect of my studies, as well as the geopolitical one, so that I may one day visit the country and immerse myself in its culture and knowledge as much as possible.
Beyond helping me delve deeper into topics I already care about and research, the conference also fueled my enthusiasm for future learning and exchange opportunities. Experiencing first-hand how enriching such an event can be has strengthened my desire to further engage in international academic environments.
