After you pass the ticket barrier, you will see a coffee shop Lemon Tree. Pass Lemon Tree and turn left out of the station, you will see taxis in queue underneath the railway bridge. Walk underneath the railway bridge and take the steps down. You will see a Co-Operative shop on the opposite side of the crossing. Take EXTRA care to cross over and watch out traffic from BOTH directions – they DON’T usually stop for pedestrians!
After crossing, you will see the Central Library in front of you. Passing underneath this bridge-like building, you will stand in Guildhall Square between Civic Offices and Guildhall with the usual grumpy-looking Queen Victoria on your left and Charles Dickens on the far-right corner. Walking towards Charles Dickens, you will see a pub Isambard Kingdom Brunel on your left on the other side of the street. Looking to your right, adjacent to the Guildhall, you will see Park Building, a grand Victorian building but unfortunately covered by scaffolding!
