Wafa Ghermani

EATS Board Member, 2023-present

Wafa Ghermani is currently assistant professor in the interdisciplinary program of the College of Liberal arts at the National Central University in Taiwan.

She is specialised in Taiwan film history, film curation and archives. She is specialised on the period of the 1960s

She previously worked at the Cinémathèque française in France and curated numerous Taiwanese films programs there or for different film festivals (such as “Le cinéma de (mauvais) genre taiwanais”). She had been part of the Taiwan’s Commercial Lost Cinema tour (https://taiyupian.uk/)

In the past, Wafa had served as the treasurer and board member of the Francophone Association of Taiwan Studies (AFET). She was elected as a board member of the European Association of Taiwan Studies (EATS) in 2023.

She is currently preparing a monograph adapted from her PhD thesis on Taiwan film and national identity (Editions Mimésis) and she is the co-editor with Chris Berry, Ming-Yeh Rawnsley and Corrado Neri of an anthology on Taiwanese-language film (Edinburgh University Press).
